Lower Division - Ages 3.75-7.75
The Lower Division is a full-day, one-week camp program for children ages 3.75 to 7.75. The Lower Division is a very general summer day camp experience, with weekly themes that camp projects, games, and activities will be based on. Daily swim is included for all of the Lower Division groups. The hours of the Lower Division are 8:30a.m. to 3p.m. (arrival is 8-8:30a.m. and dismissal is 3-3:30p.m.).
Designed for our youngest campers as well as experienced campers who enjoy the multifaceted aspect of a general summer day camp, all Lower Division campers will enjoy creative arts, story time, dramatic games, and fun in our gardens, fields, forests, and barnyard. They will also participate in cooperative learning games, scavenger hunts, and plenty of engaging, hands-on and minds-on activities in and around Burgundy’s beautiful natural environment. Our weekly themes help focus the activities and the fun!

All campers in the Lower Division have daily swim instruction in Burgundy's outdoor, saltwater pool. Campers visit the pool for 40 minutes each day to have swim instruction with our certified lifeguard staff, as well as some free swim time on Fridays. Additionally, Lower Division campers visit specialists twice each week who offer extra activities in arts and crafts, science, music and drama, and sports and games.
Younger Lower Division campers will strengthen their language, sharing, and problem-solving skills throughout the day. Older Lower Division campers will enjoy a camp day full of opportunities to learn about thematic topics, make new friends, and explore Burgundy’s 26-acre outdoor campus. Campers will also play games, sing, sketch, paint, dance, and have plenty of time to just be with friends.
Lower Division is divided into four age groups, with two classrooms devoted to each age group. Each classroom has an animal name. There is no difference between the two classrooms in a specific age group, except that they are physically two groups, with two different spaces and their own counselors. Families who want their camper to be with friends they already know will need to coordinate which group they select before registration.
3.75-4.5: Bunnies and Ducks
4.5-5.5: Chipmunks and Foxes
5.5-6.5: Dinos and Raccoons
6.5-7.75: Hawks and Eagles
Parents will be able to register their camper for a specific group and classroom via the online registration system. Camp groups in the same age range have similar experiences, we just have two classrooms and staff of counselors for each individual group. If you are trying to camp with a friend, or friends, you will want to make sure that you select the same classroom (i.e. all in the Bunnies room, or all in the Dinos room). That way, you can be sure that your camper and their friends will be together during their camp day.
