A Short Week Filled with Fun
Bunnies and Ducks
The Bunnies and Ducks had a great week! On Wednesday, we went to the Barn to visit the animals. We got to see the chickens and the pony. Petting the pony was our favorite! On Thursday, we sang “Little Bunny Foo Foo” and played a dancing game with Mr. Michael in Music. We also got to go to Sports & Games and played a game with scooters. This week, we all worked on kicking our feet while swimming at the pool. Then, on Friday, we enjoyed lots of free swim! Another fun thing this week was when we mixed colors using paint and shaving cream. We had a wonderful week and are looking forward to seeing the Bunnies and Ducks next week!
Thanks, Sheeza, Molly, Sara, Ethan, Kyra, and Taylor
The Foxes continued to have another amazing week at Burgundy! On Wednesday we made our very own lava lamp in Science and got to feed all the animals. Lulu the pig made a special appearance out of her house just for us! Although it rained on Thursday, we didn't let the water get us down; we made paper airplanes and played musical chairs, freeze dance, and all kinds of other awesome rainy day games. We all loved jamming to Disney songs and other favorites. As always, the big slide at the playground was super fun and we cannot wait for another equally fantastic week to start on Monday.
Sincerely, Sydney, Mary Claire, and Tim
On the Chipmunks first day back at camp after the holiday, they had a blast in sports with Ivana! The Chipmunks used scooter boards to play Snakes and pushed their fellow campers on “boats” made of two scooters with a mat on top. Then, they had the chance to push their counselors on their boats, which caused many boat crashes, but we are all okay! :) Later that day the campers participated in a yoga seminar with Mr. Matt. They learned to become one with the earth, performing poses such as child’s pose and downward dog. They also learned the term “namaste!”
Hope to see you all next session! Chipmunks Counselors
"Rain drop, drop top" it rained all week and it won't seem to stop. Dinos enjoyed the great indoors during the storm. This week's theme is H2O, we enjoyed ice cream on Wednesday and a front row seat of the rain storm Thursday. Although it rained on and off Friday we enjoyed the water slide in between showers.

Even though our week was short and very rainy, the Raccoons had a blast doing different activities indoors during our specials and in our room. In Music, the Raccoons learned fun songs like “Little Bunny Foo Foo” and had a great time playing freeze dance. Sports & Games taught some exciting scooter games, such as Snakes where we tried to tag our friends while riding on a scooter and Boats where we put a mat on two scooters and got to push our friends around! The Raccoons also enjoyed learning dances and playing freeze dance in the classroom. When not dancing up a storm, our campers built some amazing block buildings and towers on our rainy day. In Arts & Crafts on Friday, we made under-the-sea chalk art and tie dye art with markers, water, and coffee filters!
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend and cannot wait to see you all again next week!

This short week was nothing short of jam-packed fun for the Eagles! We combined with our bird brethren in the Hawks to form a soaring supergroup for Sports & Games. The rain didn’t keep us down (especially not during Water Week). The Eagles dove straight into learning about water and all the wonderful things it can do, including a strange science experiment involving plastic bags that wouldn’t spill water!
Thanks, Scott, Jarel, Katie, and Sophia
Even though it was a short week at Burgundy, the Hawks flew right into their activities for the week! We were able to join our Eagle friends for sports and games the whole week and it was a splash. In arts and crafts we finished our sculptures and got to sing in music with Michael. With Taylor, Jaelen, and Niña we got to create our own games and play musical chairs too. We’re ready for more fun and a drier week at Burgundy!
Have a great weekend!
Niña, Taylor, and Jalen
The smallest World Cup in history was still filled with fun and excitement. This week the World Cup teams were France, Spain, and Wales. Campers brought in facts about their World Cup team on Thursday and shared them with the group. On Friday, campers dressed up in the colors of their countries. Everyone was ready for the final on Friday - ask your camper who won our World Cup game!
Thanks, Coach Steve
This week was Earth Science Week. We looked at how raindrops are formed using water, food coloring, and shaving cream. Then we explored how to get oil spills out of water and other materials like fur and feathers. We also learned how magnets and compasses work. Thursday, we investigated how crystals formed and campers made their own geodes! Friday was volcano day, and everyone enjoyed making their own volcano out of baking soda and vinegar.
Thanks, Bianca and Christina
Even with rainy weather, we still managed to have a great time at Lego camp this week! We were so inspired by the rain that we decided to test some of our Lego creations in water. Campers were challenged to build a boat that could support heavy weights without sinking or tipping over. There were canoes, yachts, cruise ships, kayaks, and even a submarine or two! Taking a break from all the water, campers built cars and raced them down a hill to see which design could go farthest. We talked about the importance of aerodynamics and how that would affect our cars.
Thanks, Noah and Katie
This week we worked in Minecraft. We talked about the principles in Minecraft used to simulate actual engineering methods in real life. We built bridges that had to meet certain specifications using resources that we gathered from an island, and talked about how real bridge builders had to find out how to build the best bridges they can with limited resources. We used a material called Redstone that operates special machines in Minecraft and used it to solve mechanical puzzles. Redstone carries a current, just like electrical wires, and we talked about how this is similar to circuits used in real life electronics and machines. Last we made TNT cannons. We talked about the explosions in Minecraft use physics unlike anything else in the game, and showed them how you can use those physics to propel objects in different directions.
Even though this was a short week we had so much fun! This week, we have been working on making yearly calendars with our photos. The campers are also making stop-motion, animated videos. Aside from their projects, they continue to explore the campus through the eyes of a photographer. The campers have captured photos of our barn animals, wildlife, flowers, and all the various camp activities on campus. It has been wonderful!
Thanks, Celena and Connor
We had a great week in Artrageous Artventures! We studied Peruvian art and painted llamas on a colorful blanket background. We also made slay sculptures, water color paintings and rainbow art.
We hope to see everyone again next week!
Val and Katie
The Nature Navigators weren't afraid of a little rain this week! We still trekked through the woods with our compasses and played lots of games. We even learned some of our friends’ special talents and of course told tons of jokes and riddles. We got to end the week with a water slide and the always glorious free swim. We had a blast and we can't wait to see what adventures we get into next week!
Lizzy, Caitlin, and Katie
Thank you to all of our campers and camp families for packing so much fun into a short and rainy week! We hope to see you again soon!
