Additional Programs: AM Swim Lessons, Extended Day Program, Bus Transportation

Morning Swim Lessons (8 – 8:30am)

Fee: $315/session – Sessions 1 and 2 are prorated – No camp on Thursday June 19 and Friday, July 4!

Our morning swim lessons are available for all ages, and all campers who are registered for camp during a session. Register your camper for these swim lessons just like you would a camp, as an additional program. Spots are very limited with these lessons! If you are registered for these swim lessons your camper will need to be on the Campus Commons to meet the lifeguards by 8am and ready to swim.

*The early start time of these swim lessons makes them unavailable to morning bus riders.

These swimmers will participate in small group, semi-private lessons with our trained lifeguards. At 8:30am they will be escorted to their camp groups to join them for the day. It is important to note that if you register for these morning swim lessons, your camper will swim twice each day; once during the morning lesson and once with their camp group. Please plan accordingly.

This program is not available as a drop-in service and must be registered for each session.

After Camp Care (Extended Day) and Summer Enrichment – 4-6pm

After Camp Care (Extended Day)

Fee: $230/session – Sessions 1 and 2 are prorated – No camp Thursday, June 19 and Friday, July 4!

*There is no transportation option home for campers who participate in After Camp Care.

Campers who stay for our Extended Day Program (4-6 pm) will have a wide range of activities they can participate in, including: swimming, music, art, playground time, group games, and quiet reflective time. The swimming during Extended Day, while closely monitored by our lifeguards, is not instructional.

Extended Day will operate in three separate locations, each housing a different age range.  This is done to make sure we can create an appropriate environment for our campers that will allow them to relax and have fun with their peers.

Parents who are picking up from Extended Day will need to check in with staff at the Camp Office, which is located on the opposite side of the Campus Commons from the carpool drop-off and pick-up area.  Depending on what Extended Day your child is in (3-5 year olds, 6-8 year olds, or 9-12 year olds) staff will radio the appropriate location to send your child for pick-up.   You will be asked to sign out (including the time) your camper and may be asked to show ID. We appreciate your patience as we double-check our records before releasing our campers.

This program is not available as a drop-in service and must be registered for each session.

Bus Transportation from Capitol Hill  (AM Bus and 4PM Bus)

Fee: $230 one-way and $460 roundtrip/session – Sessions 1 and 2 are prorated – No camp on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, July 5!

Burgundy is happy to offer the option of bus transportation to our campers and their families who are coming from the Washington, DC area, specifically Capitol Hill. Burgundy offers two buses, each picking up from a differnet stop near Eatern Market (please see below for more informaiton on the bus stops).  Please be aware that the scheduled times may vary if traffic makes the bus early or late, and that all campers should plan to be at the bus stop 10 minutes early. The Camp Office will communicate, via email, advanced warning if a bus is running late, early, or any other situation that may impact the transportation schedule. The bus also cannot wait more than a few minutes during morning or afternoon trips, as this will impact the entire route.

There are two bus stops – Brent Elementary and Catharine Watkins Elementary.  Parents will be asked to choose whcih stop they will use at the time of registration.

If a parent is late to a pickup, the driver will keep the camper on the bus, notify the Camp Office, which will then notify the parents to arrange pick-up. No rider will ever be left unattended or without a designated adult to pick them up.

Brent Elementary School:  301 North Carolina Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003 – on the North Carolina Ave side of the school
