Lower division camps are full-day, two-week camp programs for rising JK(PK) to rising 2nd graders (ages 3.5 to 7). The Lower Division is a very general summer day camp experience with weekly themes that camp projects, games, and activities will be based on. Daily swim is included for all Lower Division groups. Designed for our youngest campers, as well as experienced campers who enjoy the multifaceted aspect of a general summer day camp, all Lower Division campers will enjoy creative arts, story time, dramatic games, and fun in our gardens, fields, forests, and barnyard. They will also participate in cooperative learning games, scavenger hunts, and plenty of engaging, hands-on and minds-on activities around Burgundy’s beautiful natural environment. Our session themes are the inspiration for activities and fun!
Camp groups in the same age range have similar experiences, but will be in separate cohorts with separate classroom spaces and counselors.

Burgundy’s Upper Division is designed for our oldest campers who have identified interests, taken up hobbies, and are ready to have influence over how they spend their camp day. The Upper Division has the widest variety of all our divisions, and allows the camper to truly build a unique camp experience during their time at Burgundy. The choice is yours!
Campers will have a full day of activity by selecting either one full day camp OR creating their full day by selecting an AM and a PM camp. Campers MUST pick an AM camp AND a PM camp, we do NOT offer just a half day program.

Whatever programs they select, Upper Division campers take on more responsibility during the camp day, give input into the day-to-day activities of their camp, and serve as role models for our younger campers. Upper Division campers are integral in creating the type of inclusive, supportive community we strive for at Burgundy, as this is often created through them leading by example.

Burgundy Farm Summer Day Camp is proud to announce the return of our successful camp program Burgundy Horsemanship Camp! Campers will begin their day by arriving at Burgundy Farm Summer Day Camp by 8:30 am each day. After being checked in by their counselors, they will make the short wooded walk to the Burgundy Stables for the horsemanship portion of their program, from 9 am to 1 pm. An experienced and qualified instructor from Burgundy Stables will lead this part of the camp day, with Burgundy Farm Summer Day Camp counselors supporting all logistics and non-riding activities.
What is Horsemanship Camp? Horsemanship Camp is a fun way for kids to learn about horses. This camp is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of those with experience and introduce horsemanship to those unfamiliar with horses. All levels of riders are welcome, from beginners to advanced. Throughout the week, campers will learn about the operation of a small horse farm, including the animals, how to care for them, and riding skills.
Burgundy Stables does not run just a “riding camp.” We run a “horsemanship camp.” The philosophy of this camp is that children should have fun while they learn. Campers learn about the many aspects of how to ride but also what it takes to care for a horse! To provide this broad experience, campers will be introduced to the necessary horse-related chores, including cleaning stalls, filling water buckets, and throwing hay. Please let your camper know that some dirty work and riding will be involved! Campers will have the opportunity to ride every other day during the camp, and on non-riding days they will learn all about the work it takes to run a small horse farm. It is rewarding when campers realize they’re learning to care for a horse and that it’s a big animal and a big responsibility!
Campers will return to Burgundy Farm Summer Day Camp after lunch at Burgundy Stables. In the afternoon, they will have instructional swim time in Burgundy’s outdoor pool, a chance to enjoy Burgundy’s campus and playgrounds and participate in camp-wide programming. The highlight of the afternoon portion of this camp will be the pool time campers have each day. What better way to cool down after a morning of working and riding at Burgundy Stables than participating in swim lessons with our experienced swim staff and lifeguards?
Riders are responsible for providing their own apparel, including an ASTM/SEI-approved helmet, gloves, boots, or hard-soled shoes with heels, and riding breeches/jodhpurs or other long-legged pants (no shorts). There are a small number of helmets available for general use, but we recommend that all campers purchase their own helmets for proper fit and safety
*Parents will be sent a required supply list for this camp as well as a liabitly waiver that will need to be signed and returned to Camp Admin prior to the start of their campers session.

Unlock your potential and take the first step toward becoming a camp counselor in our exciting Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Leadership Program at Burgundy! Designed for kids ages 12-15 (rising 7th – 10th grades), this dynamic program offers a hands-on, immersive experience where you’ll gain valuable leadership skills, real-world responsibility, and the chance to have a positive impact on our camp community.
As a CIT, you’ll work side by side with our experienced, veteran counselors, learning the ins and outs of camp life from those who know it best. You’ll receive mentorship and guidance from a dedicated CIT Director and seasoned counselors who are invested in your success. Together, you’ll support campers, lead activities, and assist in daily camp operations—all while building your own leadership skills and confidence.
Throughout the program, CITs will participate in meaningful training sessions that include essential life skills such as First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, Babysitting Certification, resume writing, and much more. You’ll not only learn how to keep kids safe and engaged, but you’ll also develop crucial skills that will set you apart in future roles, whether in the workplace or as a future leader in your community.
But the CIT program is more than just learning new skills—it’s about building lasting friendships and forming connections with your fellow CITs. You’ll bond over shared experiences, teamwork, and the challenges that come with your new responsibilities. Together, you’ll support one another as you take on leadership roles, gain experience, and grow into young leaders. CITs are an integral part of our programming, helping to bridge the gap between camper and counselor
As a CIT, you’ll be entrusted with real responsibilities—helping lead activities, mentoring younger campers, and contributing to the overall success of the camp experience. Every day is an opportunity to make a difference, learn from others, and develop your leadership abilities in a supportive environment.
At the end of the CIT program, you’ll not only walk away with valuable training and experience, but you’ll also be on track to be hired as a camp counselor when you turn 16. Whether you’re looking to jumpstart a future in education, recreation, or leadership, the CIT program at Camp Campus will provide the foundation for a lifetime of success.
Are you ready to take on the challenge and become part of a community of future leaders? Join our Counselor-in-Training Leadership Program and start your journey toward becoming a confident, skilled, and inspiring camp counselor!
In recognition of their hard work CITs are paid a $50 stipend at the end of each session.
