Counselors in Training (CITs) assist our camp counselors with the day-to-day operation of the camp from 8 am-4 pm every day. They are assigned to a specific camp group and stay with that camp group throughout the entire session.

CITs daily roles include playing with the younger campers, assisting with transitions between morning and afternoon programs, and helping to facilitate camp programming and projects.  In addition, they participate in team-building and bonding activities with the other CITs which include meetings, group games, and projects. CITs are welcome to swim daily with their assigned camp group.  CITs are placed in every camp at Burgundy as they are an integral part of the day to day operation of the camp, but CIT’s will have the option to share their preferred camp placements.  While we canot gurantee a CIT will get one of their top choices, we do our best to make sure that each CIT is happy with thier placement.

CITs are an integral part of our programming, helping to bridge the gap between camper and counselor. In recognition of their hard work CITs are paid a $50 stipend at the end of each session.
